Lampang Travel Guide
Lampang is one of the northern provinces of Thailand, which borders with more famous and toured provinces. The capital of the province is also called Lampang. Even though it is less toured (a big advantage if you ask me), Lampang province features some great attractions that will be covered in Lampang articles series.

Lampang Travel Guide : Getting around Lampang province:
To help you find your way around, Lampang province borders with Sukhothai on the south, Chiang Mai on the west and Chiang Rai on the north– so that those arriving from the center to the north, will cross Lampang on their way to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
Geographically, Lampang is comprised of a wide valley crowned by mountain chains, where the Wang river flows. The province is far less toured than its ‘sibling’ provinces, so here you can meet the authentic, pleasant side of Thailand that has yet to be commercialized or ploughed by endless tour-bus wheels, which greatly adds to the Thailand experience.
Lampang province is home to great natural reserves and other attractions you shouldn’t miss – beautiful hot springs, lovely waterfalls, excellent Elephant Sanctuary Farm supported by Thailand government and more.
Lampang City: Lampang city, the province capital, is the 3rd biggest city in northern Thailand. It’s a unique city with a special vibe, located some 600 km from Bangkok and 100 km from the city of Chiang Mai.
Lampamg city features several interesting and unique attractions – horse carriages, special weekend market, House on Pillars (Ban Sao Nak), , unique temples, special herbs massage and more.

Wat Chaleom Phrakiat – the temple in the sky: one of Lampang’s secrets; this hidden gem is unknown to many locals and the wide public just recently began to discover it. The unique temple – there’s nothing like it across the entire Thailand – has white and golden pagodas that are built on the tips of giant cliffs. If you’ll be visiting there –truly breathtaking landscape will be waiting for you.
